I'm enjoying my involuntary vacation how are you?
Recent job posting highlights
Desktop Support Technician $20-$23/hr
Post referred to position as a Desktop Support Engineer later *HEADDESK*
Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related.
Low to Mid grade certifications "or better"
Required 18 months years of IT experience. (that typo was in the post)
2yrs of Active directory support minimum
3yrs of Desktop support minimum.
Duties to include L1-L2 helpdesk
Computer hardware repairs.
Network break fix.
SO your basic I want a master of all IT specialties BUT am only going to pay near entry level.
Why? $company workplace services. Another temp agency that is clueless and/or sloppy co-mingling a "technician" and "engineer" level job post. Also a possibility they are resume farming.
DERP Corp (I recognize the toy brand so name changed)
Technical Support Specialist $19-23/hr
Long term contract through staffing agency. SIGH Red flag #1
Internal help desk. Plus there
Bachelors degree preferred. Certs CCNA MCSE a plus
Able to thrive in a fast paced environment. Red flag #2. That can be translated as worked hard and scolded if you stop to get a coffee refill.
Job responsibilities are aligned with basic help desk duties.
People with a criminal record are encouraged to apply. WHUT?!? I understand not all crimes are the same but WHUT?!?!?!
That being said Help desk/Tech Support comes with privileged system and physical access. I recall a temp where I worked was going to be hired on until they got wind of a dismissed trespassing charge. Person was working as a repo man and the cops where called. NOPE he was escorted out and his stuff was boxed up. That was over a dismissed charge.
